Purpose The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) requests your assistance sharing the attached communication, ODPANN 23-011: Supports’ Broker Recertification Training. The purpose of this announcement is to advise Supports’ Brokers that ODP’s Consolidated, Person/Family Directed Support (P/FDS), and Community Living (CL) Waiver renewals effective January 1, 2023, require that Support Service Professionals/Supports Brokers must successfully complete a Supports Broker Certification program provided by ODP or its designee every three years following initial certification. This is a program specifically developed for recertification and is separate from the original certification training. Training dates and recertification requirements are provided in the announcement. Please review for additional information.

The new rate is $0.655 per mile. Adult Autism Waiver (AAW) Provider and Supports Coordination Organizations (SCO) Requalification Process Training Sessions

Purpose Adult Autism Waiver (AAW) providers and SCO’s whose MPI number ends in 6-7-8-or 9 or enrolled in AAW in the preceding Fiscal Year are invited to join a training session that will review the Provider/SCO Requalification process. State Center Dual Diagnosis Speaker Presentation Psychologist Dr. Nicholas DeMarco on Trauma  

Purpose Trauma comes in many forms. Research suggests that individuals with disabilities are two to ten times more likely to experience a traumatic event than the general population. The barriers individuals face related to trauma include increased risk of abuse and a lack of follow through when traumatic events are reports. This session will help to define trauma, inform providers on how to create a traumainformed practice, and give an overview of empirically supported trauma interventions from childhood through adulthood.

Purpose The purpose of this announcement is to provide guidance and information relating to a new qualification requirement that has been added to the Residential Habilitation, Life Sharing, and Supported Living services (“residential services”). The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) anticipates that the new qualification requirement will become effective between mid-October and late December of 2022 based on feedback from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). This guidance is being released prior to CMS approval of the Consolidated and Community Living waiver renewals and the Adult Autism Waiver (AAW) amendment to give providers sufficient time to implement this new requirement.

Purpose Attendees will learn how to develop an employer-focused approach to negotiating customized job descriptions on behalf of individuals with disabilities. Participants seeking certification are expected to commit approximately 40 hours of fieldwork with/on-behalf of a learning partner under the guidance of Marc Gold & Associates (MGA) over the course of 4 months. This is the pre-requisite training to complete certification through MGA. *Certification in Discovery is a pre-requisite for seeking certification in Job Development.
