The Biobehavioral inpatient program for Autism Spectrum Disorders at Western Psychiatric Institute is based on best practice, focused on outcomes, and centered on family and consumer needs. The program provides evaluation and treatment for people on the Spectrum which includes: Family and individual centered care, acute psychiatric stabilization, Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA), Treatment / Intervention plans based on the FBA, medical assessments for diagnostic purposes as needed, ongoing and monitoring of presenting symptoms and behaviors, physical health assessment and monitoring, family and caregiver training and support, training and consultation for community providers and other professionals involved in the individual’s care, and transition planning and reintegration to the community.
