The Fatal Five Health Conditions are health concerns seen frequently in individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities. These conditions can result in serious illness or death if they are not closely monitored and treated.

This presentation will discuss aspiration, constipation, dehydration and seizures. These conditions are sometimes referred to as the “Fatal Four” due to the high risk that they pose to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Participants will gain an understanding of the conditions, the risk factors associated with the conditions, and strategies for preventing or minimizing the health concerns.
