SC Orientation â€“

As of 8/1/23 all new Supports Coordinators must complete the ODP Supports Coordination Orientation before working independently with an individual. The ODP required Orientation is designed to be delivered with the guidance of an SC supervisor/designee(s) to assist a new SC in understanding the broad structure of the system and their responsibilities.

What is the conversation?
New Supports Coordinators are invited to talk with the ODP Deputy Secretary Kristin Ahrens and other ODP Leaders in May and June 2024.  ODP will share their individual stories of working in the ODP system and their passion for supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

SCs will have an opportunity to explore their own stories to identify the experiences and moments that shaped their decision to join the field of human service professionals.

The sessions will emphasize the importance of the Supports Coordinator’s role and promote networking and relationships.

Who should attend?
Supports Coordinators who were hired on or after July 1, 2023, and have completed SC Orientation (but have not been on the job for more than 365 days).  SCO Leadership will identify the new SCs who are invited to attend.
