Goal Attainment Scaling (GAS)

Required Training

This section contains the required virtual trainings for Adult Autism Waiver (AAW) and Adult Community Autism Program (ACAP) provider staff who are responsible for developing GAS charts.

Goal Attainment Scaling (GAS) is an individualized approach for establishing and measuring the attainment of goals/objectives for people with varying levels of disability and support needs. It is a standardized approach to measuring and reporting outcomes, and a set of unique goals/objectives and a range of criteria is established for each person.

NOTE: *The staff seeking qualifications for GAS need to submit a fictitious (i.e., NOT on an actual participant) GAS chart and datasheet into MyODP for approval prior to developing GAS charts and datasheets for participants. This link will be made available after the staff completes all of the GAS trainings.*

Each provider agency that is currently providing a service that develops, tracks, and reports progress on goals and objectives must identify at least one person to complete the GAS course and become qualified in developing a GAS chart.

To become qualified, a person must:

  •  View the training video;

  • Pass the Post-test with a score of 80% or higher; and

  • Submit a sample GAS chart for BAS review and achieve 80% mastery.
