Description: Please join OPD for a two-part series on the topic of Adult Protective Services (APS). Since the roll out of APS there has been confusion on the implementation of the Adult Protective Services Act 70 of 2010.
Part I of this series will provide clarification on the APS law, reporting requirements, process, and the link to incident management.
Part II (Thursday, January 29, 2015) will take a proactive approach to include discussion on risk identification and mitigation. Case examples will be shared to illustrate the principles and to highlight lessons learned thus far in the implementation process. Given the link between APS, incident management, and risk mitigation and our responsibility to assure the health and safety for participants supported in our programs, providers are strongly encouraged to have a least one person from their provider organization participate.
