Presented by Cary Griffin, M.Ed.

This session will explore the customization of work using both wage and self-employment approaches. Discussion will focus on using non-comparative employment development strategies, harnessing the power of an economic development mindset, and using functional assessment (Discovery) with a focus on skills building as the cornerstone of creativity. Examples will be drawn from across the country, showcasing team-based approaches and showing how family support is vital to success. In addition, the session will explore methods for identifying Vocational Themes, the process of Going Where the Career Makes Sense, and why interests aren’t enough to base propel a career.
