Required Trainings

This section contains the required virtual trainings for Adult Autism Waiver (AAW) and Adult Community Autism Program (ACAP) Employment/ Vocational Service provider staff, including:

    • Career Planning (Vocational Assessment, Job Finding)
    • Supported Employment (Intensive Job Coaching, Extended Employment Supports)

At the end of each training you will receive a Certificate of Completion. That certificate will need to be kept on file at your agency.

These trainings will provide you with an:

    • Understanding and knowledge of Autism and supporting autistic individuals
    • Understanding of the ways in which people with ASD may need support in the workplace or in obtaining an employment position.
    • Overview of Career Planning and or Supported Employment position expectations
    • Introduction to employment assessments
    • Overview of GAS and datasheet development

REQUIRED TRAININGS LINKS:

  • SPeCTRUM 2.0 Training : ODP requires all staff in AAW and ACAP complete SPeCTRUM 2.0 prior to working with BSASP participants (click on title to be redirected to this page).
  • Goal Attainment Scaling (GAS) Training: Although the GAS is not part of the INITIAL REQUIRED TRAINING for AAW and ACAP employment staff, ODP required each Employment Goal and Objective to have a corresponding GAS chart. Any staff developing GAS charts are required to pass the MyODP GAS submission prior to developing them for a participant. As a result, it is recommended that this training be completed shortly after hire (click on title to be redirected to this page).  NOTE: *The staff seeking qualifications for GAS need to submit a fictitious (i.e., NOT on an actual participant) GAS chart and datasheet into MyODP for approval prior to developing GAS charts and datasheets for participants. This link will be made available after the staff completes all of the GAS trainings.*
  • 2020 Employment/ Vocational Services Training: ODP requires all AAW and ACAP Employment provider staff to complete the BSASP Required 2020 Employment/ Vocational Services Training as part of the Employment/ Vocational qualification process prior to working with participants. See links below. *The Vocational Profile submitted in MyODP is the last phase of the job assessment. Unlike the GAS cand SBP submissions, this submission is the result of the staff's first actual Vocational Assessment with the participant as part of the Job Assessment service. This is not an assessment written for a fictitious participant. Meaning, once the provider is chosen by a participant to conduct the Vocational Assessment service, they are added to the participant's ISP in HCSIS as the provider for the Vocational Assessment service. They will then complete the service and write the Vocational Profile. They will then submit THAT Vocational Profile in the "Vocational Profile Submission" link. Once the assessment receives an "approved" status, the staff is then able to submit any future Vocational Assessments directly to the SC for entry into HCSIS.
